My partner and I have an urgent need for a local bookkeeper – we live in Sausalito (South Forty Pier); we’re away 4-6 months of the year and our bookkeeper abruptly quit. The reason we’re looking for a local bookkeeper is that our mail arrives at a private mailbox service in Sausalito and our bookkeeper would have to pick up our mail at least once each week to pay our bills (we’d pay time and transportation costs for the mail pickup).

Normally, I estimate we’d need a bookkeeper 4-6 days per month, about 3 hours each day. However, I expect that there will be quite a few extra hours in the first 4-6 weeks, for two reasons: First, for making sense of what has been left behind by the previous bookkeeper. She was working in QuickBooks, so I hope that shouldn’t be too difficult. Second, through no fault of his own, my partner’s taxes were not filed for 2011-2015. The 2011 tax organiser is almost complete, and the 2012-2015 documentation has been collected and put into a separate bin for each year.

The bookkeeper could work at her/his own office or at ours. Our office is in the same building as the private mail service.

The only special requirement is that our new bookkeeper have a calm, cheerful temperament. My partner and I are both older, have no plans to ever retire and we’re looking for a partnership with a bookkeeper that can be for life, should we all be so lucky!
